Mechanic Responsibilities Include :
- Assess machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues
- Liaise with clients to determine their requirements and communicate defects or problems
- Provide routine inspections of equipment and inform clients of any issues
- Keep an accurate log of all work performed
- Install replacement bearings, seals, shafts, and gaskets
- Replace and wire electric motors
- Adhere to company work safety policies
- Complete jobs both in our shop and at job sites
- Respond to work orders for troubleshooting, repair and feedback to Supervisor
- Mechanic will be responsible to make emergency repairs within area of knowledge and responsibility
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, disassembly, multimeter, etc.
Mechanic Qualifications :
- Competent with the use of hand tools, i.e. jigsaw, drills, wrenches, screwdrivers
- Maintenance experience relating to HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical
- Ability to follow company processes, procedures, and policies
- Ability to work well both independently and on a team, have a can-do attitude, and be willing to learn
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Valid and clean NYS Driver's License to operate company vehicles (sprinter van)
Maintenance Technician Physical Requirements :
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work on elevated platforms
- Ability to climb ladders
- This position may require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and/or reaching
- You may be exposed to dust, loud noises, and hot and cold conditions
Location: On-Site in Garden City Park & Field Work
Pay: $18 - $25/hour
Schedule: Full-Time. Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM with overtime opportunities.
