Job Summary
Power-Flo Technologies New England is a northeast supplier of automation, sensing, and electric heating products for a wide range of industrial process applications and industries – from biotech to commercial cooking, submarines, and aerospace. We are currently seeking a reliable, results-driven individual that is highly motivated with a strong work ethic to fill an immediate Outside Sales opening on our team.
Responsibilities and Duties
- The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for all sales of all products and services within the assigned territory (and/or within assigned accounts).
- Generate and develop new business to increase revenue, through prospecting activities, including cold calling.
- Schedule outside appointments with existing customers to review applications requirements and uncover new opportunities.
- Maintain the company’s existing relationships and actively seek out new clients.
- Effectively liaison between the company and customers for all ongoing account management activities including quotations, pricing, delivery, technical support, service, and new product releases.
- Establish and maintain up to date knowledge on new products, procedures, services, and tools by successfully completing all training activities as needed.
- Consistently meet in person with target buyers.
- Prepare and execute effective sales presentations and demonstrations of products.
- Perform all administrative aspects of the position, including Sales / Opportunity reports, Maintenance of customer accounts including contact names and information, Expense accounts.
- Utilize marketing data to maximize sales effectiveness.
- Organize joint sale calls with vendors.
- Attend conferences and trade shows.
- All other duties as assigned from time to time.
Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Skills
- Minimum three (3) years demonstrated sales success and technical knowledge of industrial control and automation applications, products, and services.
- Relevant formal education in an engineering discipline, equivalent training, or work experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Professionalism and business acumen portray the company in a positive manner.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Effective time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills.
- Very good team player who works well under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- A polite, friendly, and diplomatic manner.
- Strong negotiation skills.

- Capable of preserving confidential or sensitive information.
- Valid and clean driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel extensively, including driving to client locations and attending off-site meetings.
- The role involves a significant amount of walking, standing, and potentially carrying promotional materials or product samples.
- Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, computer mouse, adding machine, laptop, and telephone for prolonged periods of time
