Directs the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework in order to ensure proper safety and soundness by implementing strategies, overseeing and managing the review process to ensure policy compliance and identifying credit risk exposure, risk ratings and problem loans.
Essential Functions
Training is required of all Bank staff as related to regulatory mandated compliance topics and courses required for specific job functions. Career enhancement training courses are also available. Please refer to course catalog and management for details.

Education/Training
A B.S. or B.A. degree, or equivalent, in a related field; completion of Risk Management training and certification.
Experience
A minimum of five (5) years' experience in related positions normally required.
Salary Range
$137,765- $165,000

Responsibilities
Directs the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework in order to ensure proper safety and soundness by implementing strategies, overseeing and managing the review process to ensure policy compliance and identifying credit risk exposure, risk ratings and problem loans.
Essential Functions
- Develops and maintains proficient knowledge of Bank products and services and corresponding risk, controls, and regulations.
- Creates and maintains risk and control matrixes for each Bank product to highlight key risks, corresponding controls, responsible party for complying with each control, and metrics to monitor and measure on an ongoing basis.
- Develops and executes an ongoing testing program to determine the level of risk with key controls; communicates instances of risk.
- Analyzes internal control weaknesses when identified; makes recommendations to appropriate managers to implement new or enhanced controls; ensures timely re-testing to determine if corrective actions have been effectively implemented.
- Provides guidance to management to ensure control issues are appropriately addressed.
- Develops and maintains tracking process to determine and report if corrective action plans are being addressed within agreed upon target dates.
- Develops, participates in, and reviews proposed changes to Bank policies and procedures for compliance with applicable regulatory and consumer/public interest laws, rules and regulations; provides recommendations for any necessary changes.
- Participates in new product development and provides input regarding risk concerns relevant to proposed and current Bank products and services.
- Determines root-cause of financial losses; makes recommendations to reduce likelihood of reoccurrence.
- Maintains liaison with internal and external auditors, and examiners.
- Prepares risk discussion agenda for monthly Audit Committee meetings.
- Oversees the ongoing review and evaluation of the quality of the Bank’s loan portfolio and credit administration processes.
- Leads and delegates tasks in a clear and proper manner among assigned staff.
- Conducts annual performance reviews, providing clear feedback and follow through with corrective action if necessary.
- Provides coaching, recognition, motivation and skill development to staff members on a consistent basis.
- Communicates clearly among her/his teams, assuring all team members have the appropriate tools and information to perform according to expectations.
- Administers personnel policies and procedures, such as time and attendance.
- Assures adherence to Bank policies and procedures and federal and state regulatory requirements.
- Provides cross-functional support to other areas of the department and the Bank where service or assistance is needed.
- Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
