About the Role
Plurax/DAK is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll/Administrative Assistant to support payroll and administrative operations for our Miramar and North Island Commissary contract sites. This position is essential to ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time, in compliance with Department of Labor regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain payroll login credentials and employee time records for all Plurax/DAK employees.
- Monitor and verify daily clock-ins and clock-outs using the PayClock system.
- Prepare and submit weekly and biweekly payroll reports for review and processing.
- Communicate with supervisors and managers to resolve any payroll discrepancies.
- Support management with administrative duties, including document preparation and scheduling.
- Maintain confidentiality and control access to sensitive information, such as personnel files.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings and assist with event planning as needed.
- Audit new hire documentation, including I-9 forms, to ensure compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA); follow up on missing or incorrect information.
- Process documentation for personnel exceptions, transfers, changes, promotions, and terminations.
- Represent Plurax/DAK with professionalism and integrity at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Ability to access Miramar and North Island military bases.
Preferred:
- Prior experience with PayClock or other electronic timekeeping/payroll systems (minimum 1 year preferred).
- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply (English/Spanish a plus).
Compensation & Schedule
- Salaried, part-time position.
- Standard schedule: Monday – Friday, 20 hours per week; mornings preferred (some flexibility may be required).
