**Job Summary

**

The Industrial Painter is responsible for preparing and finishing parts and assemblies by washing, media blasting, priming, and applying paint coatings in compliance with quality standards and product specifications. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols—including the ability to wear a cartridge-style respirator—and collaboration with team members to meet production schedules and maintain efficiency.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities

**

  • Prepare parts and assemblies for painting through washing or media blasting.

  • Mix and apply paint coatings accurately, ensuring compliance with product data sheets and quality standards.

  • Perform wet and dry film thickness tests; verify color and surface finish.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing instructions.

  • Maintain and repair paint spray equipment; clean paint booths and replace filters.

  • Track and maintain chemical inventory levels.

  • Accurately record labor hours and work order details, complete equipment maintenance checklists.

  • Inspect parts for defects and report inconsistencies in materials or equipment.

  • Operate forklifts, jibs, and cranes safely.

  • Wear and maintain a cartridge-style respirator as required for painting operations.

  • Comply with ISO standards, PPE requirements, and company safety programs.

  • Participate in cost and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Pass and maintain Respiratory Protection Physical, Fit Test, and Pulmonary Function Test.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

**

  • Excellent problem-solving and judgment skills.

  • Strong verbal communication and attention to detail.

  • Ability to calculate basic math functions, including ratios and volumes.

  • Experience with paint application, mixing, and chemical management preferred.

  • Ability to wear a cartridge-style respirator for extended periods.

**Education and Experience Required

**

  • High school diploma or GED required; prior experience in industrial painting preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

**Physical Demands

**

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.

  • Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and crouching.

  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for inspecting work and operating equipment.

  • Must meet requirements for respirator use, including fit testing and pulmonary function testing.

**Work Environment

  • Primarily located on the production floor with exposure to moving mechanical parts, welding operations, fumes, and airborne particles.

  • Noise levels range from moderate to loud; appropriate PPE required.

  • Fast-paced environment requiring adherence to safety protocols and attention to detail.
