QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent.
SUPERVISES:
Custodial Helpers / Student Custodians
JOB GOAL:
Work with Head Custodian and Principal to provide a clean,
safe educational environment for all students
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance
with the Board’s policy on
Evaluation of Classified Personnel
PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Clean (exhibit good housekeeping skills), check (include: lights,
windows, doors, set alarm secure building, etc.) and secure
assigned areas such as classrooms, stairways, halls,
restrooms, locker rooms as required/directed
- Report regularly at assigned time
- Shall deviate from assigned work schedule only as requested
- Wash windows; clean furniture, rugs, and carpeting;
- Mow, trim, and clean around building, shrubs and plants,
septic system, athletic fields, etc.
- Repair furniture and tools, by replacing screws, glides, etc.,
- Clear walks and entrances, shovel snow, remove ice and
- Assist in setting up gym or other areas for activities such as
required and/or directed
- Give proper care and preventive maintenance of all equipment
- Report, in writing to the Head Custodian, irregularities,
- Assist with summer maintenance by conducting preventive
of school buildings/structures
- Repair and assist in repairs of district buildings and equipment,
- Occasional work with equipment/devices involving electricity,
& other cleaning equipment
- Participate in training programs as required by the District
- Deal with occasional exposure to blood and bodily fluids
- Deal with students in a friendly manner, even the occasional
- Comply with all Plain Local Board of Education policies and
- Perform other duties as directed
