QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Experience working with students in a school setting

SUPERVISES:
Students and/or any area designated by the appropriate supervisor
JOB GOAL:
Assist Principal and others in providing a friendly, courteous, and safe
environment for students, so students can take full advantage of their
educational experience
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the
Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel
PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help students develop and observe proper rules and procedures
Monitor and maintain behavior and reinforce acceptable behavior,
promote wholesome intra-school and community - school relations
When needed, organize students into orderly groups to assist
them in their assigned areas
Inform the teacher or Principal of any serious infraction of
disciplinary rules by students
Assist with setting up and using instructional equipment such
as computers,audiovisual equipment, and related technology
Maintain the confidentiality of student/staff information and
records, and student behavior
Monitor activities in the hall, lavatory, recess, lunch, playground,
classroom, or wherever assigned including, but not limited to,
emergency drills and assemblies
Deal with occasional exposure to blood and bodily fluids,
and students with various illnesses
Interact with a diverse student population
Handle interactions among unruly children
Comply with all Plain Local Board of Education
policies and procedures
Perform other duties as directed
