A well-established renewable energy EPC and construction contractor operating across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic is seeking a Director of EPC to lead end-to-end project execution across a growing portfolio of solar and energy storage projects.
The business delivers turnkey renewable energy solutions spanning commercial rooftop solar, community solar, ground-mount systems, and battery energy storage systems. With a strong track record of delivering several hundred megawatts of solar and an expanding pipeline of hybrid solar storage developments, the organization continues to scale in response to increasing demand across distributed generation markets.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all EPC execution activities, driving consistency across field operations, strengthening project delivery systems, and ensuring safe, high-quality, on-time project completion. The Director will operate as a key link between engineering, preconstruction, procurement, and field execution in a fast-moving, hands-on environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end EPC delivery across multiple solar and energy storage projects, defining execution strategy and ensuring alignment across engineering, procurement, preconstruction, and field teams
- Oversee execution of commercial rooftop, community solar, and ground-mount projects, ensuring consistent performance across geographically distributed job sites
- Drive accountability for schedule, budget, safety, and quality across all active projects while resolving complex field and construction issues as they arise
- Lead, develop, and scale project management and field leadership teams within a growing EPC organization, including mentoring senior PMs and construction leaders
- Partner with estimating and development teams on constructability and pricing strategy, and oversee procurement planning for major equipment and long-lead items
- Ensure seamless transition from preconstruction into execution, supporting design coordination and value engineering initiatives
- Monitor project financial performance, supporting margin protection, forecasting, and change order management while strengthening commercial discipline across EPC operations
- Identify and mitigate execution, commercial, and supply chain risks across the project portfolio
- Champion a strong safety culture across all job sites, ensuring OSHA compliance and maintaining consistent quality assurance and commissioning standards
Key Requirements
- 10–15 years of experience in EPC, renewable energy construction
- Strong background in solar construction
- Experience leading multiple concurrent projects and distributed field teams
- Proven leadership of project management and field execution functions
- Deep understanding of construction execution, commissioning, and interconnection processes
- Strong commercial awareness (budgets, contracts, cost control, and risk management)
- Experience operating in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments
