Overview
Our client is a leading North American energy infrastructure investor, developer, and operator with a diversified portfolio across power generation, transmission, and emerging energy platforms. The firm manages large-scale assets across multiple technologies and U.S. power markets and continues to expand its commercial and trading capabilities.
The role will provide strategic leadership across the company’s energy marketing, trading, and hedging activities. This individual will help drive commercial strategy, optimize asset value, and support investment decisions across U.S. power markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate trading opportunities across power, FTRs, emissions, RECs, natural gas, and other related commodities.
- Oversee commercial strategies for power generation assets, including market participation and hedging strategies.
- Conduct fundamental and quantitative market analysis to support trading and investment decisions.
- Support asset valuation and revenue underwriting for generation assets and acquisitions.
- Develop and implement risk management and hedging strategies to optimize profitability and manage market exposure.
- Partner with development and investment teams on commercial strategy for new projects.
- Mentor team members and contribute to the broader commercial strategy of the organization.
Qualifications
- 15 years of experience in power trading, structuring, asset optimization, or energy market analytics.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. wholesale power markets and commodity trading.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skillset, including experience with modeling or programming.
- Experience with trade capture and risk management systems.
- Proven leadership and communication skills.
