Responsibilities for the Senior Systems Engineer includes:
- Design and implement solutions based on internal and customer requirements.
- Build, test, monitor, backup, and maintain production systems.
- Perform hardware installation, troubleshooting, and replacement (chassis, blades, CPU, RAM, disks, power supplies, cabling, etc.).
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
- Maintain documentation and utilize ticketing systems effectively.
- Make occasional trips to Phoenix metro area data centers as needed.
- Security Clearance: Active Secret or higher preferred; must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
- Experience:
- 7 years as an IT Systems Engineer in Linux environments.
- 7 years of experience in Python or similar object-oriented programming languages (Java, C , C#).
- 4 years using Ansible for configuration management.
- Demonstrated ability to implement open-source projects in production.
- Technical Skills:
- Systems integration (hardware, software, security, networking).
- Troubleshooting across hardware, network, and applications.
- Virtualization/Containerization (QEMU/KVM, Docker, Podman).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms.
- OS: Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, RHEL.
- Scripting: Python, Perl, Bash.
