Client:
Our client is a private credit platform with ~$5 billion in AUM focused on making investments in sponsored and non-sponsored North American middle market companies. They invest in growing North American companies with $5-$75 million of EBITDA. The firm's investment vehicles provide senior and unitranche debt, junior debt, mezzanine facilities, preferred equity, and common equity co-investments. They are industry agnostic and invest across healthcare services, business services, transportation/logistics, technology/telecom, and franchising.
Opportunity:
They are currently seeking an Associate to join their NYC Investment team (hybrid). The Associate will work in small deal teams and gain exposure to all aspects of the credit investing process.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct due diligence on potential investments (e.g., identifying risks and mitigants, competitive positioning, growth prospects, customer analysis, industry analysis, etc.)
- Perform valuation analysis, financial analysis, and financial modeling
- Assist in structuring transactions
- Prepare and present detailed investment committee memoranda
- Monitor portfolio companies
- Perform ad hoc assignments
Qualifications:
- 1-4 years of prior relevant work experience (leveraged finance, financial sponsors or M&A investment banking, private equity, or private credit investing)
- Bachelor's degree with strong academic performance
- Proficient in financial modeling
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to work independently
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in Excel and Word
