Client:
Our client is Boston-based investment firm with a lower middle market buyout and growth equity focus. They have a long and successful investment track record, and a seasoned and experienced investment team. This firm invests in both private equity and growth investment funds along with direct deals as a lead investor or co-investor alongside a GP.
Opportunity:
The firm is seeking a healthcare-focused Senior Investment professional to join their lean investment team. This individual will be involved in all aspects of direct and fund investing and will be a crucial member of their growing firm.
Responsibilities:
- Executing actionable investment opportunities for the firm, including preparation of investment memos, and business plan summaries
- Sourcing potential investments and providing recommendations on the opportunity
- Researching investment target's competitive position, market size, trends and industry dynamics across a broad variety of industries
- Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data produced by an operating company in order to develop an investment thesis and underwriting memorandum
- Working closely with portfolio company CEOs and CFOs to ensure that financial data, board packages, operating metrics, and any other related information is prepared timely and accurately
- At times, present analyses to board and management teams
- Active, direct portfolio involvement as needed for time intensive situations
- Oversee work product and responsibilities for Associates
- Overseeing and negotiating debt financing and leading execution of M&A for portfolio companies
- Management of diligence providers, including legal, accounting and industry specific consultants, owns deliverables of all diligence efforts
- Own the closing process including assisting with legal documentation and post-closing activities
Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience in Private Equity investing, co-investing, and investment banking. Having in depth healthcare exposure is mandatory
- Demonstrates high levels of integrity, work ethic, tenacity, and character
- Advanced financial modeling skills, including MS Excel proficiency, capital structure analysis, debt service, etc.
- MBA from a top-tier institution preferred but not required
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to proactively manage processes and outside relationships
- Understanding of leverage and complex capital structures
- Preference for residing or relocating to Boston with ties to the area a plus
