Bar Manager – Pierogi Bar St Pete (Ukrainian Restaurant & Martini Bar)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy Ukrainian Restaurant and Martini Bar in St. Petersburg. The Bar Manager will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of guest service, ensuring efficient bar operations, managing staff, controlling costs, and promoting Pierogi Bar as the region’s premier Ukrainian dining and cocktail destination.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Service
- Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and profitable service.
- Maintain consistency in cocktail preparation, with emphasis on our signature Ukrainian Dirty Martini.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
- Create and maintain bar setup standards, cleanliness, and organization.
Staff Leadership & Training
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise bartenders and barbacks.
- Provide ongoing training in mixology, customer service, and Ukrainian cultural hospitality.
- Lead by example, fostering a positive, team-oriented environment.
Customer Experience
- Deliver exceptional guest service with a welcoming and professional attitude.
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests promptly and diplomatically.
- Develop and promote bar events, happy hours, and seasonal specials to enhance customer loyalty.
Financial Management
- Control inventory, monitor usage, and minimize waste.
- Manage ordering of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and bar supplies.
- Track and analyze bar sales, costs, and profitability, reporting directly to ownership.
Marketing & Promotion
- Collaborate with ownership on promotions, seasonal menus, and community events.
- Support Pierogi Bar’s branding as the only Ukrainian restaurant and martini bar in the Southern U.S.
- Promote Ukrainian culture through cocktails, special events, and partnerships.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of bar management experience in a high-volume restaurant or bar.
- Strong knowledge of classic and craft cocktails, martinis, and mixology trends.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to train and inspire a team while enforcing standards.
- Proven track record in cost control, inventory management, and vendor relations.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic business reporting.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Interest in or appreciation of Ukrainian cuisine and culture is a plus.
