Our client is seeking an experienced Underwriter to support its Commercial Real Estate & Hospitality Finance team. This is a contract opportunity with the potential for extension based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Banker, Originator, and deal team with originating and evaluating new business opportunities.
- Manage the transaction process from due diligence, underwriting, credit approval, and loan closing.
- Manage third-party transaction consultants, including underwriting support vendors.
- Assist the Capital Markets and Distribution team with securitization and syndication efforts.
- Analyze loan opportunities and prepare initial underwriting recommendations based on loan submission packages and market data.
- Build underwriting models and prepare asset summary reports.
- Coordinate with borrowers, brokers, legal, credit, KYC, and internal business partners to ensure transactions progress efficiently and close on schedule.
- Maintain deal information in internal databases and workflow management systems.
- Ensure all transactions are executed in compliance with Lending Policy, Credit Policy & Procedures, underwriting guidelines, and business procedures.
- Assist with portfolio management, loan servicing, and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; concentration in Real Estate, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience within a bank or commercial real estate lending platform.
- Strong commercial real estate underwriting, valuation, and loan origination experience.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Experience with Argus and/or Rockport is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $65 - $72
