AVP – Middle Office Controls & Operations

A top global investment bank is seeking an AVP – Middle Office Controls & Operations to join its growing Operations organization.

This is not a traditional Operational Risk or Second Line of Defense role. The team is looking for someone who has worked within Operations or Middle Office and understands the trade lifecycle, operational processes, and control environment. You will partner directly with Operations leadership to strengthen controls, drive issue remediation, support risk assessments, and improve operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with Operations and Middle Office teams to strengthen the first-line control environment.
• Coordinate issue management activities, including root cause analysis, remediation planning, corrective actions, and issue closure.
• Support Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), operational reviews, and control assessments across Operations.
• Assist with control testing and documentation to ensure controls are effective and operating as designed.
• Prepare operational metrics, dashboards, and management reporting for senior leadership.
• Track operational issues, trigger events, and action plans through completion.
• Support internal audits, regulatory reviews, and governance initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, controls, and overall efficiency.
• Work closely with stakeholders across Operations, Compliance, Internal Audit, and Technology.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience within Middle Office, Trade Operations, Securities Operations, Asset Servicing, Treasury Operations, or Operations Controls.
• Experience supporting RCSAs, issue management, control testing, audit remediation, or operational governance.
• Strong understanding of operational processes and the trade lifecycle.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree required.
