BASIC FUNCTION
The primary purpose of your job position is to manage the billing and collection of residents accounts, in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as directed by the Administrator, to assure the proper administrative procedures are maintained at all times. Ensure residents/responsible parties understand the admission agreement and financial responsibility for their stay.

- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action and remain calm during emergency situations.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the general public.
- Communicate all current information regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and other payment sources to resident or resident’s representative.
- Explain the facility admission agreement and all attachments to potential and new residents and residents’ representatives.
- Obtain required signature on all admission forms.
- Assist Admission Case Manager in facilitating admissions to the nursing facility.
- Must be knowledgeable of administrative practices, procedures, and guidelines (i.e. MCD bed-hold days, RFMS etc.)
- Complete NOMNCs and cover updates if needed.
- Collect private pay funds, including patient liability.
- Ensure all Medicaid patients are current and complete renewals timely.
- Must check the insurance for new referrals in a timely manner, including weekends.
- Participate in on-going training to serve as a back-up to the Admission Case Manager.
- Refer admission problems to designated individuals.
- Must be willing to work closely with the facility contracted billing company and follow up timely with their requests.
- Must possess a cheerful personality and be able to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Must possess the ability to minimize waste supplies and misuse of equipment.
- Just possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
- Be available for surveys from ODH or other governing bodies.
- Must be able to complete all other duties as assigned by facility administrator or designee.
