Position Purpose
The Human Resource Manager for Fort Wayne Manufacturing plays a critical role in shaping the employee experience within a union manufacturing environment at PHD. Functions
- Management of PHD employee benefit programs including health insurance, life insurance, disability, Flexible Spending Accounts, Union 401k, Safety Glass Program, and Tuition Reimbursement Program.
- Maintain effective labor relations through timely and thorough intervention and accurate interpretation of collective bargaining agreement provisions.
- Organize and manage preparation for contract negotiations, participate in negotiations, and prepare final documentation.
- Maintain awareness of applicable employment legislation and participate in HR policy development.
- Maintain and enhance HRIS systems and prepare reports.
- Manage recruiting and hiring for Fort Wayne Manufacturing operations.
- Participate in compensation and job evaluation programs.
- Prepare weekly hourly payroll worksheets and serve as backup support for payroll processing.
- Participate as a member of the Fort Wayne Manufacturing management staff.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources or equivalent experience.
- Three to five years of experience as an HR Generalist
- Union Experience is a Plus
- Ability to support employees and leaders in a professional, consistent, and respectful manner while balancing empathy with accountability.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High aptitude for HR systems, payroll and timekeeping processes, and working with data and financial information; experience with Paycom or similar integrated HRIS preferred.
