A growing, mid-sized financial services company in Charlotte is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the accounting function and help ensure accurate financial reporting. This individual will work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the company's financial operations.
ResponsibilitiesSupport day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities
Assist with financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
Help develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Partner with management on financial analysis and special projects
Contribute to process improvements and overall efficiency within the department
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5 years of accounting experience; prior experience in financial services or mortgage industry a plus
Strong understanding of general accounting principles
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software systems
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
CPA or progress toward CPA preferred
