Position Overview
Phaxis Education is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to support students in the Early Childhood and Transitional Programs (ages 18–22).
The nurse will provide both direct medical care and collaborative support within the educational setting, including participation in evaluations and IEP meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to students, including:
- Diabetes management (blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration as applicable)
- Tube feeding and related medical supports
- Support early childhood, preschool, and transition-aged students across assigned programs
- Participate in evaluations, IEP meetings, and care planning for students with special needs
- Collaborate closely with special education staff, teachers, therapists, and administration
- Maintain accurate health documentation and ensure compliance with school health regulations
- Serve as a medical resource for staff and families
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota
- Previous school nursing or pediatric/special education experience preferred
- Experience with: Diabetes care, Tube feedings, Medically complex students
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently in a school-based setting
