Packaging Operator – Central Islip & Hauppauge, NY (1st, 2nd, 3rd Shift)
Full-Time | On-site | Regulated Manufacturing
A large regulated manufacturing facility in Central Islip & Hauppauge, NY is hiring Packaging Operators for multiple shifts. This role involves operating automated packaging equipment, documenting work accurately, and maintaining compliance with FDA and cGMP standards.
Position Overview
The Packaging Operator will support the packaging of regulated products by running and maintaining production equipment, completing accurate documentation, and following all SOPs, safety standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate automated packaging equipment (filling, labeling, sealing, cartoning, palletizing, etc.)
- Follow SOPs, cGMP, and documentation practices for all packaging activities
- Accurately complete batch records, logbooks, and production documentation
- Perform equipment setup, cleaning, line clearance, inspection, and basic troubleshooting
- Monitor quality parameters and stop line when safety/quality concerns arise
- Return unused materials, segregate rejection/waste, and follow workflow procedures
- Maintain clean workstations and adhere to PPE/safety rules
- Work effectively with team members, leads, and supervisors
- Perform other duties as required
Required Qualifications
✔ Minimum 2 years' experience as a Packaging Operator in an automated environment (preferably regulated industry)
✔ Experience within the last 2–3 years
✔ Knowledge of cGMP, SOPs, FDA rules, and documentation requirements
✔ Ability to read & write clearly in English (documentation required)

Shift Availability
Candidates must be open to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift based on business needs.
Shift differential applies for 2nd & 3rd shift.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs using hand truck
- Standing, bending, twisting, and moving on the production floor for extended periods
- Ability to wear PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hair/beard nets, ear protection)
- May require use of respiratory protection equipment (APR/SAR/PAPR)
