What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prepress Packaging Operator position at New York Label and Box Works?
New York Label and Box Works is looking for a prepress operator. We are a print packaging company that has been in existence since 1878. We print high quality labels and cartons, and are looking to add to our team. As a prepress operator, the basic function is to prepare customer art files using industry standard prepress software.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Preflight incoming artwork.
- Prepare art files for production.
- Make requested art modifications.
- Generate digital and hardcopy proofs.
- Verify accuracy of content
- Output digital files for plates.
- Create/edit carton or label designs
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 2 years of pre-press experience.
- Must know Abobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
* Prefer an Associates degree in Applied Arts, Packaging Science or Print Media.
- Prefer experience with Esko.
- Prefer Esko Artios CAD experience, visualizer, or Kongsberg cutting table experience
- Prefer experience with Flexo and Offset litho printing technology
- Prefer experience with paper, film, and cardboard material
