As a Speech-Language Pathologist you will provide patient assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation. You will participate in the clinical team process and provide supervision to therapy staff.
Responsibilities:
- Upon physician’s orders, evaluates patients and develops appropriate care plans.
- Under a physician’s order, provides direct patient treatments in accordance with an established plan of care.
- Monitors efficiency of speech pathology assistants on an ongoing basis.
- Documents activities according to the company’s clinical documentation system on a timely basis.
- Communicates effectively with patients, team members, customers, and supervisors.
- Promotes positive customer relations.
- Provides appropriate consultation to the facility.
- Participates in the training and orientation of other staff.
- Participates in clinical program development and implementation.
- Demonstrates ability for continuous learning to remain current in the field.
- May perform additional duties as requested by the administrator or rehab coordinator/manager.
- Participates in quality improvement activities.
- Exhibits courtesy, compassion, and respect to patients, residents, families, caregivers, visitors, physicians, administrators, and co-workers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in the field, Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and Texas State Licensure. Minimum 3 years’ experience in pediatric therapy. Previous experience as a supervisor preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Adequate computer literacy to learn a computer-based clinical data program.
