RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the diverse needs of students.
- Teach various English language arts subjects, including literature, writing, grammar, and composition.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and fosters a love of reading and writing.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and exams, providing constructive feedback to support growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and participate in school-wide initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with educational trends.
- Support students’ social and emotional well-being through mentorship and guidance.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
- Attend faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- State certification or licensure to teach English at the high school level.
- Strong knowledge of English language arts curriculum and pedagogy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse learning styles and backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Experience with technology integration in the classroom is preferred.
- Previous teaching experience at the high school level is a plus.
