What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Companies Attorney position at Permanent Placements LLC?
Our client is a highly ranked AM law firm who is seeking 3rd–6th year Associates to join its highly regarded (and newly formed) Corporate Private Companies (ECVC, Private Equity, Capital Markets, & Corporate) practice group in their San Diego office, which advises innovative & high-growth companies, as well as the investors who support them. Candidates with at least three years of experience working with early-stage and growth-stage companies are strongly encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate will bring experience counseling venture-backed companies on a broad range of general corporate matters throughout their growth lifecycle, including venture capital financings, IPOs, returning them to private status, and liquidity events. This role will also provide opportunities for Associates to serve as Outside General Counsel to their clients to advise and counsel them on a variety of Corporate matters. This role offers the opportunity to work as part of a thriving & collaborative team that advises many prominent, high-growth companies and leading investors throughout the full life cycle. Candidates that have worked with clients in a Life Sciences or Biotechnology are a huge plus but not required (any industry background is applicable).
In addition to client-facing work, associates will have opportunities to help build and grow their own practice, participate in speaking engagements, and contribute to the continued development of the firm’s Private Companies platform. Candidates should have experience practicing in the corporate department of a national or international law firm and demonstrate a strong academic record from a nationally recognized law school. Candidate ideally will be licensed to practice in California, but the position is open to candidate who are interested in relocation (with relocation assistance) to San Diego & are willing to sit for the California bar.
Compensation
The expected annual base salary range for this position is $260,000–$390,000. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.
