Overview: The Testing & Abatement Coordinator supports the Testing & Abatement Manager in the planning, documentation, and coordination of all lead-based paint testing and abatement activities under approved scopes of work. The Coordinator assists in tracking progress, maintaining documentation for reimbursement, and ensuring timely reporting to the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and other regulatory agencies.
This position reports directly to the Testing & Abatement Manager and works collaboratively with Construction, Property Management, and Compliance teams to ensure abatement activities proceed in accordance with approved schedules, safety standards, and agency requirements.

- Assist in the coordination of testing and abatement activities in accordance with the approved abatement schedule and scope of work
- Maintain updated logs of scheduled and completed testing, abatement, and clearance work
- Communicate regularly with residents, remediation companies, and site staff to confirm unit access, readiness, and completion status
- Track and update building- and unit-level progress in Yardi, shared trackers, and Smartsheets
- Support coordination of temporary resident relocation logistics, as needed, to facilitate access and abatement completion
- Prepare tenant notices following each unit test
- For units with positive lead findings, assemble required documentation, including floor plans, DOH notices, post-abatement notices, and abatement and clearance reports
- Collect and organize all field reports, laboratory results, and clearance documentation for submission to the Testing & Abatement Manager
- Assist in preparing weekly and monthly progress summaries for internal review and NYCHA reporting
- Upload and maintain current information in Yardi and NYCHA’s Smartsheet tracker within ten (10) days of abatement activities, under the Manager’s direction
- Assist with preparation of the Final Lead Abatement Report, including compiling unit-level and component-level documentation and ensuring completeness of supporting materials
- Respond to internal data or documentation requests from the Testing & Abatement Manager and other departments to ensure consistent reporting
- Collect and organize invoices, test reports, and proof of work completion for inclusion in reimbursement packages to NYCHA
- Track the status of reimbursement submissions and maintain supporting documentation for each funding draw
- Maintain auditable files of all testing and abatement records, organized by building and unit
- Ensure that all records related to reimbursement are complete, properly labeled, and easily retrievable for internal and agency review
- Review data entries for accuracy and consistency before submission
- Maintain Smartsheet and Excel trackers for testing, abatement, and clearance results
- Assist with preparing summary tables, charts, and progress visuals for ownership, management, and NYCHA reporting
- Support document audits and ensure that project files are complete, current, and compliant with regulatory standards
- Track outstanding items related to lead violation resolution
- Support documentation needed for close-out
- Escalate issues or discrepancies to the Testing & Abatement Manager
Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
