Job title: Outreach & Testing Coordinator
Job Summary :
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Prevention Programs and general guidance from the VP of Prevention Programs, the Outreach and Testing Coordinator will be responsible for the successful implementation of an integrated event and social media based HIV/HCV/STI testing and PREP/PEP linkage facilitation program targeting high-risk negative and status unknown individuals. The program supervisor will utilize a status-neutral approach, promote and support integrated and person-centered models of medical and behavioral health care and increase the availability and increase access to culturally and linguistically affirming Prevention Services.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise Community Health Outreach Worker, HIV/HCV Testing staff; identify training and professional development needs and ensure adherence to all program, departmental and agency policies
- Ensure project staff provide affirming and up-to-date education on topics that include, but not limited to condoms and safer sex products, PrEP, PEP, iART, HIV care and treatment, U=U HIV/STI screening, reproductive health, mental health, substance use and supportive services
- Coordinate event-based outreach and education activities to targeted populations and communities at a range of community venues, targeting sites and locations where the priority population are known to reside, socialize, and gather (e.g. Health Fairs, HIV/STI Testing Events, Bars/Clubs, Strolls, etc…)
- Ensure staff coverage of all Testing activities, schedule outreach and testing services with community partners and special events and create outreach contingency coverage plan in event of staff vacancies
- Coordinate social media-based outreach and education activities to targeted populations and communities to amplify existing HIV preventive messaging
- Produce and report on all social media outreach analytics to promote and recruit individuals in need of PrEP/PEP and HIV/STI testing, including number of likes, new followers, shares and insights reports on demographic and geographic information of posts
- Ensure successful implementation of BOOM!Health’s in-home HIV self-testing services to clients engaged via outreach and ensure project team complete virtual /pre/post-test counseling and follow up
- Review and complete partner services and NYS provider report form on all new HIV diagnosis as well as previous HIV diagnosis new to the program
- Ensure that all HIV positive clients are offered and connected to Linkage Navigation Services to provide IART and initial HIV primary care support services
- Conduct weekly field observations of the Community Health Outreach Workers and HIV/HCV Testing staff, document and report on field findings and conduct necessary training and/or corrective action
- Provide technical support and guidance to all Testing and PrEP related program activities to ensure a coordinated response to the prevention needs of the community
- Conduct monthly quality assurance/quality Improvement, data audits, chart reviews and monitoring activities on all testing, outreach and PrEP/PEP services
- Compile monthly reports of all outreach and testing activities including accomplishments, challenges and strategies for improving delivery of testing and PrEP/PEP services
- Represent the agency at meetings convened by funders and other community groups as needed on issues related to Prevention programs
- Coordinate use and dispatch of mobile testing units
- Provide confidential HIV/Hepatitis C and STI rapid testing services in accordance with the BOOM!Health testing protocols either in the privacy of the mobile testing unit or on-site at any of BOOM!Health’s locations as needed
- Support data entry of testing level services as needed to maintain accurate reporting to funder
- Other duties as assigned by the program leadership
Qualifications/Criteria:
- Understanding and experience implementing biomedical interventions and health education to persons at risk for or living with HIV/AIDS.
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, health education theories and other STDs, substance use and harm reduction.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Understanding of culturally diverse needs of various ethnic and socioeconomic groups
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and communication skills required
- Experience working with LGBTQ youth and young adults.
- Willing to work evenings and some weekends
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in the health/social service field and with at least 2 years’ experience conducting HIV and/or Hepatitis C testing services OR HS Diploma/Associates with at least 2 years relevant experience
Salary : $27 - $30
