Position OverviewWe are seeking a Technical / CAD Designer I to support engineering and design activities by creating and modifying accurate CAD models and technical drawings. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working from engineering instructions, sketches, and layouts and will collaborate closely with engineers and project team members to complete drawing and modeling assignments.
Key Responsibilities- Create and modify 2D drawings and 3D CAD models based on engineering instructions, sketches, and layouts.
- Make drawing and model revisions as directed by engineers or project managers.
- Apply basic drafting standards, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T principles.
- Follow established CAD modeling and drafting procedures to produce accurate and clear engineering deliverables.
- Review work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable drafting standards.
- Work under the guidance and review of experienced engineers and designers.
- Communicate with engineering and project teams to understand requirements, clarify instructions, and meet project timelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation and incorporate design changes as required.
- Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Design Technology, or a related technical field; OR completion of a relevant vocational/technical program.
- Hands-on experience with at least one CAD software platform such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, NX, Inventor, or similar.
- Basic understanding of engineering drafting practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow technical instructions.
- Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or mechanical design environment.
- Experience creating and revising engineering drawings and CAD models.
- Familiarity with engineering documentation and design standards.
- Ability to interpret sketches, layouts, redlines, and engineering markups.
