Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately
- Process prescriptions, including data entry and insurance verification
- Measure, package, label, and organize medications
- Maintain proper storage and inventory of pharmaceuticals
- Provide excellent customer and patient service
- Handle medication orders, refills, and prior authorizations
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Operate pharmacy systems and manage records using EMR/EHR software
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active Pharmacy Technician Registration in New York (required if applicable)
- Minimum 6 months – 1 year experience preferred (retail or hospital setting)
- Basic knowledge of medications and pharmacy terminology
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- PTCB Certification (CPhT) or equivalent (highly preferred)
- Experience with pharmacy systems (e.g., Epic, CVS, Walgreens platforms)
- Insurance processing and billing knowledge
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
