Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in a correctional facility setting. This role involves providing direct patient care, supporting medical staff, and ensuring the health and well-being of the inmate population in a structured and secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients/inmates in accordance with established protocols
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patient health, vital signs, and report any changes to the medical team
- Assist with medical assessments, intake screenings, and documentation
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with facility standards
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and other healthcare staff to ensure quality care
- Follow all safety, security, and infection control procedures within the facility
- Educate patients on health conditions, medications, and treatment plans
Requirements
- Active LPN/LVN license in the state of Pennsylvania
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (correctional or acute care experience preferred)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
