EEG Technician (R.EEGT) – Travel Contract | Diagnostic Neurology
Location: West Hollywood, CA.
Contract: 13 weeks contract with possible extension.
Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:30)
Pay Rate: $50/hr
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented EEG Technician (R.EEGT) for a 13-week travel assignment in a high-acuity Diagnostic Neurology department. This role involves performing routine and long-term EEG monitoring, supporting both adult and pediatric populations, and working closely with neurologists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure accurate data collection and patient safety.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in inpatient EEG procedures, the ability to recognize seizure activity, and proficiency in troubleshooting neurodiagnostic equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform EEG setup using the 10–20 electrode placement system
- Conduct routine and long-term/video EEG monitoring (LTM/VEEG)
- Monitor patients for seizure activity and notify clinical staff as needed
- Identify and troubleshoot artifacts and technical issues in EEG recordings
- Document and annotate EEG studies for physician interpretation
- Clip and prepare EEG data for neurologist review
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and monitoring teams
- Maintain and calibrate EEG equipment in accordance with protocols
- Assist with STAT EEG setups and urgent monitoring requests
- Ensure adherence to patient safety and infection control protocols
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of EEG experience (inpatient setting required)
- Active R.EEGT certification (Registered EEG Technologist)
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Active state license required at time of submission
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Strong experience with EEG hookup, acquisition, and troubleshooting
- Ability to recognize basic EEG patterns and seizure activity
