This position is responsible for overseeing efficient cargo transportation, maintaining accurate shipping documentation, coordinating customs compliance, and delivering outstanding support to customers, overseas partners, and carriers. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in ocean import operations within a freight forwarding or NVOCC setting, along with excellent communication, organizational, and analytical abilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate FCL and LCL ocean import shipments from origin to final destination
- Communicate with overseas agents, steamship lines, trucking companies, warehouses, and customers regarding shipment updates and requirements
- Review and process import documentation, including bills of lading, arrival notices, commercial invoices, packing lists, and delivery orders
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively address delays, customs holds, or transportation-related issues
- Coordinate inland transportation and cargo delivery with trucking providers and warehouse facilities
- Partner with customs brokers to ensure timely customs clearance and adherence to U.S. import regulations
- Prepare customer invoices, validate vendor charges, and maintain accurate billing records
- Update shipment details and maintain accurate records within internal operating systems
- Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly to client requests and shipment inquiries
- Ensure compliance with company policies, TSA/FMC regulations, and international shipping standards
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in ocean import freight forwarding required
- Strong understanding of ocean import procedures and shipping documentation
- Experience managing FCL/LCL shipments and coordinating final delivery logistics
- Familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations and import compliance procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
