The Import Coordinator will be responsible for managing and tracking inbound shipments, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service to clients. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of import operations, documentation, and the freight forwarding industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of import shipments via air and/or ocean.
• Arrange and monitor cargo movement from origin to final delivery.
• Communicate with carriers, agents, brokers, and internal teams to ensure timely shipment processing.
• Prepare and review import documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and arrival notices.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and other regulatory requirements.
• Update shipment milestones and maintain accurate records in the TMS.
• Provide proactive updates to customers regarding shipment status and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Manage billing, invoicing, and cost verification for assigned shipments.
• Handle filing and coordination of ISF, entry documents, and other regulatory filings (as applicable).
• Support continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in import operations, preferably with a freight forwarder.
• Working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and import documentation.
• Experience with air and/or ocean import processes.
• Proficiency with freight forwarding/TMS systems (CargoWise experience a plus).
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
