This role is responsible for managing end-to-end export shipments via air and ocean, ensuring compliance with international regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and process international export shipments (air and ocean) from booking through final delivery
- Prepare and review export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and air waybills
- Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations and international trade laws
- Communicate with carriers, overseas agents, and customers to arrange shipments and provide updates
- Track and trace shipments, proactively resolving any delays or issues
- Manage bookings with steamship lines and airlines
- Maintain accurate records in internal systems and ensure data integrity
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Work closely with internal departments such as pricing, operations, and customs brokerage
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in freight forwarding, specifically in export (air and/or ocean)
- Knowledge of export documentation and international shipping procedures
- Familiarity with Incoterms and basic customs regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with freight forwarding software (e.g., CargoWise) is a plus
