Export Coordinator | Itasca, Illinois | Hybrid work schedule (2 days onsite)

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Export Coordinator to join their growing freight forwarding team in Itasca, Illinois. This hybrid role offers flexibility while supporting day-to-day export operations across international markets. The Export Coordinator will manage export shipments from booking through final delivery, ensuring compliance with U.S. export regulations and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage export shipments via ocean and/or air freight
• Prepare and review export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, AES filings, and certificates of origin
• Communicate with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, and domestic vendors
• Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations and company SOPs
• Track shipments and proactively resolve issues or delays
• Provide timely updates and shipment status reports to customers
• Arrange pickups, bookings, and delivery schedules
• Accurately enter shipment data into the TMS and maintain organized records
• Support billing by reviewing freight charges and resolving discrepancies

Qualifications & Skills

• 2 years of export coordination experience within a freight forwarding environment
• Working knowledge of ocean and/or air export operations
• Familiarity with export compliance, AES filings, and international trade documentation
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office
• Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
