Export Coordinator | Itasca, IL | Salary up to $65,000

Our client, a well-established international freight forwarder based in, is seeking an experienced Export Coordinator to join their growing operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with freight forwarding experience who enjoys managing shipments from start to finish while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate international air and ocean export shipments from booking through final delivery
• Prepare and process all export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, AES filings, and bills of lading
• Communicate with customers, overseas agents, carriers, and trucking companies to ensure smooth shipment execution
• Arrange bookings with airlines and ocean carriers
• Monitor shipment progress and provide proactive updates to customers
• Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations and customer SOPs
• Resolve shipment issues, delays, and documentation discrepancies
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update the freight forwarding system
• Prepare customer billing and verify vendor invoices

Requirements

• 2 years of export experience within an international freight forwarding environment
• Experience handling air and/or ocean export shipments from A–Z
• Knowledge of U.S. export documentation and AES filing requirements
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment
• Experience using CargoWise or another freight forwarding software is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
