QUALIFICATIONS :
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Satisfactory completion of appropriate continuing
education specific to job requirements and Pennsylvania state requirements.
Certified in Basic Life Support.
- PURPOSE OF JOB :
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Utilizes knowledge and critical thinking skills to safely assess and care for patients, with consideration
- Competent delivery of care in non-critical settings, with consideration for age, weight, and medical
delivery systems, ABG's, bedside spirometry, BiPAP, and CPAP. If assigned to the PFT lab, this also
applies to complete pulmonary function testing. If assigned to the Bronchoscopy Lab this also applies.
- Competent delivery of care in critical settings, with consideration for age, weight, and medical
delivery, BiPAP, CPAP, and bronchoscopy assisting. Also included is ventilator care and management,
airway care, and emergency life support.
- Competent delivery of care in the Intensive Care Nursery. This includes, but is not limited to, ventilator
- Accepts physician orders. Provides accurate documentation of care in patient chart and Kardex. Gives
- Keeps supplies stocked and properly cares for equipment. This includes infection control procedures,
medication carts and oxygen tank carts.
Job Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Education: Graduate of a CoARC approved School for Respiratory Therapy.
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Satisfactory completion of appropriate continuing
education specific to job requirements and Pennsylvania state requirements.
Certified in Basic Life Support.
- Experience: Previous hospital experience required, either as employment or student clinical
- Other Skills: Computer and typing. Excellent interpersonal skills
