Position Summary
Penda Aiken Inc. is a staffing firm located in Brooklyn, New York. Our client is a New York State Agency and is looking for a detail-oriented Computer Support Specialist to join the Office of Aging and Long-Term Care (OALTC) within the Center for Data Architecture, Intelligence & Support (DAIS). This role will assist with activities related to health care facility data collection, maintain and run data pipelines, act as a liaison with ITS, and serve as the primary technical and administrative interface for organizational survey initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Survey Lifecycle Tasks: Execute the opening and closing of online surveys according to established timelines; coordinate and validate survey logistics to ensure live/closed statuses accurately reflect schedules.
Provider Communication & Compliance: Proactively manage provider outreach, including notifications of survey availability; monitor and communicate with non-responding providers to ensure high participation rates.
Data Quality Assurance (QA) & Integrity: Conduct comprehensive reviews of survey submissions to identify data anomalies and inconsistencies; perform triage and coordination for Quality Control; report non-responder status and data integrity metrics to leadership.
Technical Support & Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the liaison between end-users and IT services (ITS) to submit and track requests; communicate critical system issues, technical errors, or data anomalies to Data Analysts immediately.
Policy Compliance: Adhere strictly to all DAIS policies, principles, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) regarding data collection, processing, privacy, and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
Technical Skills: Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, and SharePoint. Ability to work effectively with electronic databases.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to walk through complicated technical ideas or tasks with individuals without an IT background.
Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities to triage technical issues, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience: Experience working in a fast-paced setting with the ability to multi-task in complex databases, as well as experience effectively communicating with consumers, providers, and staff.
Data & Analytics: Experience creating and maintaining a data dictionary and mapping existing databases. Knowledge or experience in SQL, Python, R, or Tableau is a plus.
