Business Analyst – Application Development (NYC Local Candidates Only)
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid/Onsite as required)

Overview
Our client, a leading mid-sized financial institution in New York City, is seeking a Business Analyst with proven experience supporting application development initiatives within banking or related financial services. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, direct experience partnering with developers and QA teams, and a solid understanding of financial industry processes.
This position is onsite/hybrid in New York City; only candidates currently residing in the NYC metropolitan area will be considered; competitive compensation- the salary range for the role is $90,000-$115,000 per year plus a discretionary annual bonus and a very comprehensive benefits plan.
Key Responsibilities
• Partner closely with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document detailed business and functional requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications for development teams.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, and project managers to ensure solutions meet requirements and are delivered on schedule.
• Develop process flows, use cases, user stories, and related documentation to support application development.
• Support testing efforts by defining acceptance criteria, reviewing test plans, and validating system deliverables.
• Identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and process improvement opportunities across projects.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and written analyses for stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Participate in special projects and adapt responsibilities as business priorities evolve.
Required Qualifications
• Completed Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• At least 3 years of business analyst experience supporting application development or systems implementation projects within banking, investment banking, or financial services.
• Demonstrated success clarifying and translating business requirements for technical teams.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Foundational technical knowledge (e.g., basic programming, database concepts) sufficient to collaborate effectively with developers and understand underlying system behavior.
• Strong understanding of financial industry workflows, regulatory considerations, and operational processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
• Flexibility to work beyond standard office hours when necessary to support critical project timelines.
Salary : $90,000 - $115,000
