Workday Payroll Analyst

PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Workday Payroll Analyst on a Contract (9-12 month) basis. This role is hybrid based out of Lakewood, CO. Full benefits are provided during the contract period.

Summary

We are seeking a Workday Payroll Analyst to support a large-scale ERP transformation initiative. This role will focus on payroll operational readiness, testing, reconciliation, documentation, and go-live support during a high-visibility implementation. The ideal candidate will bring strong payroll operations experience along with hands-on exposure to Workday Payroll in either a production or implementation environment.

Responsibilities

• Support payroll go-live readiness activities during the transition to Workday Payroll.
• Partner with payroll leadership and project teams to ensure operational readiness for Day 1 payroll processing.
• Assist payroll staff with executing new payroll processes and workflows within Workday Payroll.
• Support payroll testing, validation, reconciliation, and variance analysis between legacy and future-state systems.
• Analyze payroll discrepancies, identify root causes, and assist with issue resolution efforts.
• Develop, document, and standardize payroll processes, SOPs, and operational workflows.
• Create process documentation and communication materials for payroll team members and organizational leadership.
• Coordinate project-related tasks, timelines, and follow-up activities across payroll and implementation teams.
• Provide hands-on payroll operational support during implementation and stabilization phases.

Required Skills

• 5 years of payroll experience within a high-volume or complex payroll environment.
• Hands-on experience processing or supporting payroll within Workday Payroll.
• Experience supporting Workday Payroll implementations, go-live activities, stabilization efforts, or major payroll system transitions.
• Strong understanding of payroll operations, payroll controls, payroll testing, and reconciliation processes.
• Experience with payroll variance analysis, issue identification, and resolution support.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage timelines and coordinate cross-functional activities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred but not required.
• Experience supporting ERP/HRIS transformation initiatives and creating SOPs, training materials, or operational documentation is preferred.
