PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Software Engineer in Test on a Contract-to-Hire basis. This role is based out of Loveland, CO. Full benefits are offered during the 2 year contract period prior to converting full-time. No third parties.
Summary
We are seeking a Software Engineer in Test (SDET) to join an agile engineering team focused on improving software quality through white-box testing and test development. This role is ideal for a quality engineer who thrives on building test solutions and validating complex software behavior through code rather than primarily executing automation suites. The ideal candidate will partner closely with software developers to strengthen system reliability and testing strategy.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain code-based testing solutions to validate backend services, APIs, and application functionality.
- Perform white-box testing to evaluate system behavior, architecture, and software performance.
- Partner with software engineers to identify defects early and improve overall product quality.
- Design and implement automated testing strategies for functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Contribute to testing frameworks and continuous quality improvements within an agile environment.
- Support validation efforts across web and mobile-related applications where applicable.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint activities, and collaborative troubleshooting efforts.
Required Skills
- 5 years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, or SDET-focused development.
- Strong coding experience with white-box testing and test framework development.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright.
- Experience testing APIs, backend services, or distributed systems preferred.
- Mobile testing experience using Appium or similar tools is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
