Salary: $40,000–$45,000 annually (DOE)
Position Summary
The Aquatics Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day
operations of Pecan Valley Resort’s aquatics facilities. This role ensures a safe,
compliant, and welcoming environment for guests while leading, training, and
supporting aquatics staff.
This is a seasonal-intensity management position, with heavier workloads during
peak summer months and a reduced operational load during the winter season.
The Aquatics Manager plays a key role in delivering high-quality guest experiences
while supporting the resort’s broader team-oriented culture.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of all aquatics facilities to ensure safety, cleanliness,
and regulatory compliance
Train, schedule, and supervise lifeguards and pool attendants
Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs)
Respond to emergencies, incidents, and guest concerns in a calm, professional,
and timely manner
Complete and maintain accurate incident, accident, staffing, and operational
reports
Monitor pool operations including water quality testing, and facility readiness
Ensure compliance with local, state, and national health and safety regulations
Work with Operations Manager on recruitment, onboarding, certification, and staff
training
Conduct safety inspections, audits, and equipment/facility checks
Coordinate daily aquatic programs and special events as applicable
Foster a professional, inclusive, and guest-focused environment
Collaborate with other resort departments and assist in off-season operations as
needed
Seasonal Workload Expectations
Peak Season (Summer): Extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and
holidays, to support high guest volume and special events
Off-Season (Fall/Winter): Reduced aquatics operations with lighter hours;
flexibility to support other resort departments as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Experience as a lifeguard or aquatics professional required
Positive, problem solving attitude
Prior supervisory or leadership experience required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum age of 21
Certifications
Current Lifeguard Certification with a willingness to be certified as a Life Gurad
Trainer under Ellis & Associates (We will pay for certification)
CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer
Food Handlers and Tips and Sips certifications a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations
Working knowledge of aquatics safety standards, water chemistry, and facility
operations
Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to manage a flexible and seasonal schedule
Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support multiple departments during
the off-season
Physical Demands
Ability to perform water rescues and emergency response activities
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods
Work Environment
Indoor and/or outdoor aquatic facilities
Exposure to water, pool chemicals, and varying environmental conditions
