Position Summary
The Aquatics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the aquatics facility to ensure a safe, compliant, and welcoming environment for all patrons. This position provides direct supervision to aquatics staff, ensures adherence to safety and health regulations, and supports the delivery of high-quality aquatics programs and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate lifeguards, swim instructors, and aquatics staff
- Ensure enforcement of all safety policies, procedures, and emergency action plans
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and patron concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Complete and maintain accurate incident, accident, and operational reports
- Monitor pool operations, including water quality testing, chemical levels, and facility cleanliness
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national health and safety regulations
- Assist with staff recruitment, onboarding, certification tracking, and in-service training
- Conduct routine safety inspections and operational audits
- Support the coordination of swim lessons, programs, and special aquatics events
- Promote a professional, inclusive, and customer-focused environment
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum age of 18 or 21, in accordance with local regulations
- Prior experience as a lifeguard or aquatics professional required
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Reliable Transportation
Required Certifications
- Current Lifeguard Certification (e.g., American Red Cross, Ellis, StarGuard)
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
- First Aid Certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations
- Knowledge of aquatics safety standards, water chemistry, and facility operations
- Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to be flexible during off season working in various departments within Jellystone Zion Park Camp Resort Park
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform water rescues and emergency response activities
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods
Work Environment
- Indoor and/or outdoor aquatic facilities
- Exposure to water, pool chemicals, and varying environmental conditions

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
