The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. This role plays a critical part in helping patients regain function, improve communication, and enhance overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve communication and safe swallowing function
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans and strategies
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations
- SNF or long-term care experience preferred
- Knowledge of current speech therapy practices and dysphagia management
- Experience with Net Health or similar EMR systems preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Current Speech-Language Pathologist license in the State of New Mexico
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred (or Clinical Fellowship candidates welcome, if applicable)
- License must be active and in good standing
