The PTA works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide direct patient care. This role focuses on helping residents improve mobility, strength, and functional independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, and function
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to supervising therapist
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy programs
- Accurately document treatments and patient responses in compliance with regulations
- SNF or long-term care experience preferred
- Knowledge of current therapy practices
- Experience with Net Health or similar EMR systems preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the State of New Mexico
- License must be active and in good standing
