In this contract position, you will be responsible for developing and executing internal and external communication strategies and deliverables that align to the goals of the implementation of AMI meters and systems.

Major duties
- Provides proactive, effective communications support, counsel, and strategic planning to AMI management team.
- Requires regular attendance at management meetings, learning the AMI work streams and communications challenges, developing internal and external stories and other communications about initiatives/programs for various audiences.
- Partner closely with meter deployment operations and ombudsman to develop and execute integrated communications plans in alignment with deployment operations.
- Plans, edits, and writes content for a variety of employee communications vehicles, including change network groups, project team members, stakeholder groups, and executives.
- Works closely with other Communications functions and the company’s lines of business to ensure accurate and consistent messaging to enhance the customer experience.
- Reviews and monitors mail-house vendor performance and implements changes when necessary to improve performance.
- Prepares, monitors, and updates AMI communications budget and project plan.
- Maintains day-to-day contact with agencies and free-lance contractors to establish timetables; specifies/verifies print, visual, audio and video designs and media schedules; and monitors deadlines.
- Prepares presentations, scripts, displays, visuals, and slides.
- Maintains materials and customer lists in compliance with the company’s record retention policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, or related field.
- Six or more years of experience in corporate communications.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate ideas into clear, compelling messaging.
- Strong ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence across all levels and functions.
- AP style proficient
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks for several projects at the same time, often on short timelines.
- Change communication experience preferred.
- Management experience preferred.
- Rate: $56.10/hour
- W2 Contract
- Remote with occasional travel to office
- 6 month contract with opportunity for extension
