Communications Lead III
Location: Remote (occasional travel to Allentown, PA)
Schedule: 40 hours/week
Contract Duration: 6 months
Pay rate: $45/hr - $55/hr
Overview
We are seeking a Communications Lead III to drive communication strategy and execution for large-scale IT initiatives, including AMI meter and system implementations. This role partners with leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver clear, engaging messaging that supports employee adoption and a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead communication planning for major IT initiatives, ensuring clear, timely, and consistent messaging
- Translate complex technical changes into clear, actionable content for diverse audiences
- Advise IT and project leaders on communication strategy, timing, and risk
- Develop and deliver multi-channel communications (email, intranet, toolkits, signage, alerts)
- Ensure alignment with brand standards and change management best practices
- Coordinate cross-functional reviews with IT, HR, Corporate Communications, and leadership
- Monitor feedback and adoption risks; adjust communication strategies accordingly
- Support internal and external communications for AMI programs
- Partner with operations and stakeholders to execute integrated communication plans
- Manage communications budget, project plans, vendors, and timelines
- Prepare presentations, scripts, and executive-level materials
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and record retention policies
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field
- 6 years of experience in corporate, product, or technical communications
- Strong writing and editing skills (AP style proficiency preferred)
- Experience supporting IT transformations or complex technical initiatives
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Technical writing experience
- Change management or change communications experience
- Experience with large-scale utility or AMI programs
- Prior leadership or team management experience
