General Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity goals are achieved. This role provides direction, support, and leadership to production teams while maintaining efficient workflow and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily plant floor operations and ensure smooth production flow across all work centers.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate goals, priorities, and safety reminders.
- Monitor attendance, approve time off, track working hours, and communicate overtime needs.
- Control the flow and schedule of production to meet customer demand and delivery timelines.
- Prepare end-of-shift reports, including KPIs such as OEE, scrap, downtime, and attendance.
- Inspect product quality and raw materials throughout the production process; initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Materials teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Train, coach, and develop team members; conduct new hire training and ongoing skills development.
- Provide regular performance feedback, address disciplinary matters in coordination with HR, and promote team engagement.
- Enforce all safety standards, PPE requirements, and 5S practices throughout the facility.
- Support safety programs and participate in behavioral-based safety initiatives.
- Perform cycle counts, process reviews, and inventory checks as required.
- Communicate effectively between shifts to ensure smooth handoffs and continuity of operations.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and capable of learning company systems quickly.
- Solid understanding of production workflows, quality standards, and operational metrics.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Safety-oriented and committed to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
