Shift: 1st Shift, 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday
Rate: $28.41 (to start)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining all machinery and equipment used in production and related services.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties, effect repairs, and adjustments either temporary to keep machine in production or, if required and feasible, effect permanent repairs.
- Assist to rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments.
- Perform fitting and aligning of bearings, spindles, and shafts, and adjustments of feeding and limit mechanisms, gibs and ways.
- Assist with the installation of new and the relocation of existing equipment including: dismantling, erection, leveling, fitting, and aligning operations.
- Act as a project leader, determine materials and resources needed to complete task. Check work of subordinate technicians and helpers.
Requirements:
- General knowledge of mechanics, machines design, electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to work from machine design drawings, specifications, and handbook formulas.
- Ability to use and read precision instruments.
- Must have knowledge of welding, using arc, gas, mig, etc.
- Ability to perform baseline electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to communicate well with others.
- Must be willing to take a respirator fit test and CPR/First Aid training.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Requires frequent (4 or more hours per day): standing, lifting (max 50 lbs), carrying (25-50 lbs), pushing and pulling heavy carts, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and finger movement.
- Occasional walking, sitting, and reaching (overhead and to the side) may be required.
- Frequent exposure to: heights, noise levels >80 db, vibration, mechanical hazards, and moving objects.
- Occasional exposure to: temperature extremes, humid/arid conditions, confined spaces, cramped quarters, solvents, fumes, dust, mists, gases, allergens, and insect bites.
