The Quality Inspector II-III measures and assesses raw materials, in-process and finished goods to ensure all customer requirements have been met. The inspector uses a variety of tools and techniques. The Inspector will track of their inspections and, when they find defects, report them. This position works in coordination with the Quality Supervisor and reports to the Quality Manager.
What you’ll be doing as a Quality Inspector II-III:
- Working a Full-time, onsite position at our Simi Valley, CA location.
- Perform complex inspection tasks as assigned using appropriate inspection tools and techniques. Valve bodies, Compound Angle, and 5 Axis Inspection Knowledge is a must.
- Record and document inspections per customer and ISO9001:2015/AS9100 Rev D Requirements
- Perform inspections in a complete and timely manner in support of schedule/cost expectations.
- Full Understanding of AS9102 Rev C requirements.
- Work effectively with other inspectors and shop floor personnel.
- Verify all inspection tools utilized are calibrated and appropriate for the assigned task.
- Actively provide suggestions for Continual improvement Program.
- Verification of assembly and components (Heli-coils, Dowel Pins, Bearings/Bushings, Etc.)
- Performs other duties as assigned
- 5 years of experience in all aspects of aerospace inspection and documentation
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications
- Proven experience with a range of inspection tools: Micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, etc.
- Ability to use and understand inspection reports, FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports), and traceability documentation
- AS9100 Rev D knowledge
- ASME Y14.5 knowledge
- Demonstrated success in working in teams in support of group objectives
- Comfortable with MS Office and willing to learn ERP/MRP systems
- Technical certification or post-secondary degree in related field
- DCC CMM Experience is a plus (Mitutoyo MCOSMOS)
- Previous certification or training in internal auditing (ISO/AS9100) or quality engineering.
