The Lead Inventory Clerk is responsible for supporting daily inventory operations within the warehouse while working alongside the team. This role ensures inventory accuracy, efficient workflow, and safe operation of equipment. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, hands-on warehouse experience, and the ability to delegate tasks effectively while maintaining productivity and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delegate tasks and monitor team performance to ensure productivity, accuracy, and safety.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including Cherry Picker and Reach Truck forklifts.
- Count finished goods and perform appropriate adjustments on inventory levels.
- Research inventory discrepancies and take corrective action as necessary.
- Provide internal and external customer support related to inventory.
- Assist in developing and implementing new processes and procedures as needed.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and participate in physical inventory counts.
- Assist in managing consolidation assignments.
- Create and maintain cycle count reporting and perform adjustments as instructed.
- Collaborate with the team to manage over/under picks proactively.
- Coordinate daily inventory activities, including cycle counts, stock movement, and reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) – specifically Acellos, and Yard Management Systems (YMS) (customer-specific).
- Utilize computer skills for Email, Microsoft Teams, and Excel to track and report inventory and operational updates.
- Support operations during peak seasons and maintain flexibility with work hours as needed.
- Proactively perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Proficiency operating Cherry Picker and Reach Truck forklifts.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), specifically Acellos.
- Experience with Yard Management Systems (YMS) (customer-specific systems preferred).
- Strong computer skills including Email, Microsoft Teams, and Excel.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to delegate tasks effectively and manage multiple priorities.
