Job Title: HR Coordinator (Onboarding)
Location: Santa Ana, CA
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | Start time between 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Coordinator to manage and support the onboarding process for new hires in a fast-paced construction environment with one of our clients. This role is responsible for ensuring a smooth, compliant, and efficient onboarding experience from offer acceptance through first day readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end onboarding for new hires, including scheduling start dates and orientations
- Prepare, distribute, and collect new hire paperwork (I-9s, E-Verify, W-4, direct deposit, etc.)
- Ensure all onboarding documents are completed accurately and in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Conduct new hire orientations and review company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Enter and maintain employee information in HRIS systems
- Coordinate pre-employment requirements such as background checks, drug screenings, and employment verifications
- Communicate with new hires to provide updates, instructions, and support prior to their start date
- Partner with hiring managers and field supervisors to ensure a smooth onboarding transition
- Maintain organized and confidential employee records
- Track onboarding progress and generate reports as needed
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of HR or onboarding experience (construction industry preferred)
- Strong knowledge of onboarding processes and compliance requirements (I-9, E-Verify, etc.)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and HRIS systems
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
